Francisco Muñoz Alba is widely regarded as one of the finest guitar makers of the new generation of Spanish luthiers.

Born in Granada’s historic Albaicín district, Francisco grew up surrounded by a rich guitar-making tradition and spent decades learning from some of the region’s most respected masters. Through years of dedication, study, and refinement, he developed his craft to an exceptional level, culminating in his First Prize victory at the 2nd International Antonio Marín Montero Guitar Making Competition.

This guitar is built to the exact specifications of the award-winning instrument, with the only difference being the choice of back and side woods. From the very first glance, the extraordinary precision and artistry of the workmanship become apparent. The rosette mosaic is centered around an elegant Fleur-de-Lys motif, which serves as the visual theme for the instrument’s decorative details. Graceful curves, rather than straight lines, are carried throughout the design, appearing not only in the edge purflings but also in the beautifully executed center seam inlays on the back.

The distinctive broken-line purfling that frames the rosette mosaic is tastefully echoed in the tie block and inner top purflings, creating a unified and sophisticated aesthetic that reflects Francisco’s meticulous attention to detail.
