A new guitar from Masaki Sakurai, the nephew of the greatest luthier from Japan, Masaru Kohno.
Mr Masaki won the first prize in the 1988 Paris International Guitar Luthiers Competition with this “PC” or “Paris Competition” model, the instrument featured is the same exact design as the 1988 guitar which won the prize !
A gorgeous instrument in every way, elements in the headstock and rosette are suggestive of Bouchet guitars while the thick maple binding harkens back to the early Madrid school.
Warm basses with piercing round trebles, comfortable to hold, ease of play with its low action, concert level projection…
A must try and such a rare find…
