Luthier Zoran Kuvac is based in Bosnia and Herzegovina (ex Yugoslavia) and has been a full-time luthier for many years, having built over 200 instruments to date.
His influences are mainly traditional Spanish makers such as Torres and Romanillos (he has participated twice in the Romanillos masterclasses) however his current instruments (including the one we are offering here) are based more on the contemporary French school.
The guitar showcased is inspired by the work of Daniel Friederich in particular and a look inside at the bracing system indeed confirms this influence. Although inspired structurally by Daniel Friederich, aesthetically this guitar is uniquely of Zoran Kuvac’s design. Materials are very elegant – it features a set of beautiful, figured rosewood for the back and sides with a gorgeous tight-grained, quarter-sawn spruce top.
Sound is extremely refined – crystal clear in every register with a nice plump, robustness to every note. It is also very responsive to both hands, it has great punch and huge volume.
Many well-known guitarists including Zoran Dukić and Edin Karamazov have played Kuvac guitars.
A must try
