About the Instrument

The Jean-Noël Lebreton Double Top Concert represents the innovative side of contemporary French guitar making, combining traditional craftsmanship with carefully considered acoustic engineering.

Its double-top construction incorporates a Canadian Western Red Cedar soundboard with a balsa and Nomex® mixed inner core. This approach allows the soundboard to remain highly responsive while supporting the projection, sustain and tonal complexity expected from a serious concert instrument.

The cedar contributes a naturally warm, rich and expressive character, with excellent resonance and sensitivity to the player’s touch. The advanced inner-core construction complements these qualities by contributing clarity, projection and responsiveness, resulting in an instrument capable of producing both considerable power and exceptional nuance.

The tonal character is particularly impressive for its balance. Deep, dark and resonant basses are complemented by clear, singing trebles, while the middle register remains articulate and expressive. Excellent sustain and carefully balanced harmonics allow individual notes to remain beautifully defined even during demanding passages.

The elevated Spanish cedar neck, ebony fingerboard, armrest and carefully selected tonewoods contribute to a comfortable and effortless playing experience. Every element has been thoughtfully considered to serve both the player’s comfort and the instrument’s acoustic performance.
