Amalio Burguet — Guitarrero Desde 1966
Amalio Burguet was born in Catarroja, near Valencia, Spain, in 1951. His passion for guitar making began remarkably early, and in 1966, at just fifteen years old, he built his first guitar while working and learning in various workshops.
Those early years gave Amalio extensive experience in guitar construction and production. Yet his ambitions went beyond simply mastering the technical aspects of guitar making. He became increasingly fascinated by the intimate craftsmanship of instruments made entirely by hand, in the tradition of the individual master luthier.
He continued his musical education and dedicated himself to studying the finer details of the craft, including the properties and treatment of tonewoods and the many subtle construction processes that influence the character of a guitar.
In 1984, Amalio realized his dream by opening his own workshop in Catarroja. Here, he was able to develop his own vision of the Spanish guitar — combining traditional craftsmanship with innovation and careful attention to quality, while creating instruments accessible to both aspiring musicians and accomplished professionals.
More than five decades later, Amalio Burguet remains deeply dedicated to his craft. His workshop continues to reflect a philosophy of constant improvement, with every instrument representing his lifelong pursuit of creating the finest possible guitar.
The story of Amalio Burguet is ultimately a life dedicated to the Spanish guitar — its sound, its traditions and the art of bringing this remarkable instrument to life.
