Nylon Crossover Versatility • Comfortable Modern Feel • Professional Amplification
The Camps CW1 Crossover was designed for contemporary guitarists looking for an easy and natural transition from steel-string or electric guitar to the world of nylon strings.
Its slightly more compact body, shorter scale, slim neck and gently radiused fingerboard create a playing experience that feels familiar to players coming from modern guitar designs, while retaining the warmth and expressive character of a nylon-string instrument.
The cedar soundboard brings a warm, immediate and expressive voice, beautifully complemented by the richness and distinctive appearance of the Ziricote back and sides. With its cutaway and comfortable modern dimensions, the CW1 offers excellent flexibility for contemporary playing, fusion, solo work and amplified performance.
The onboard Fishman Classic III pickup system, combined with six independent saddles, provides carefully balanced amplification across the strings, making the CW1 an exceptionally practical instrument for the stage.
A professional yet approachable crossover guitar, the Camps CW1 is an excellent choice for guitarists who want to explore nylon strings while maintaining a familiar and highly playable feel.

The Camps CW1 Crossover
The CW1 is an instrument designed around versatility. Its purpose is to make the transition to nylon strings considerably easier for musicians accustomed to steel-string and electric guitars.
The compact body and shorter scale contribute to a comfortable playing experience, while the slim neck and slight radius of the rosewood fingerboard provide a familiar sensation for players who may not normally gravitate toward traditional classical guitar dimensions.
The cedar soundboard gives this version of the CW1 a warm and responsive tonal character, with a natural immediacy that works particularly well for contemporary playing. The Ziricote body adds depth and richness while giving the instrument a striking visual personality.
The cutaway opens up the upper register, making the instrument particularly useful for modern arrangements, solo playing and styles where access to the higher frets is important.
Amplification is an integral part of the CW1 concept. The Fishman Classic III pickup system and six independent saddles are designed to provide a balanced amplified response from string to string, giving the guitarist greater confidence when moving from acoustic playing to the stage.
The result is a highly versatile nylon-string instrument that bridges several guitar worlds — traditional nylon-string warmth with a modern, familiar playing experience.
About Hermanos Camps
Based in Girona, Spain, Hermanos Camps carries forward a guitar-making tradition that began with Joan Camps Coll in 1945.
Across successive generations, Camps has combined traditional Spanish guitar-making knowledge with continued development in ergonomics, construction and playability. Their instruments reflect a philosophy of preserving the musical qualities of the Spanish guitar while responding to the changing needs of contemporary musicians.
The CW1 Crossover is an excellent example of this approach, bringing nylon-string construction together with modern dimensions, a cutaway and professional amplification to create an instrument for today’s increasingly versatile guitarist.
