Construction details by Marco Lijoi:
This is a personal project of mine, developed after many attempts to achieve a modern, contemporary sound without abandoning the tradition and character of the classical guitar.
The main feature lies in the soundboard, particularly in the lower bout. The bracing consists of a 7-fan system made of balsa wood, reinforced with carbon fiber. There is also a small transverse brace under the bridge to further even out the response across the instrument. Between the braces, numerous small relief carvings have been made to reduce weight.
The goal is precisely to minimize mass as much as possible while maintaining the same stiffness as a traditional top.
The result is a powerful and highly dynamic guitar: the more you ask from it, the more it gives back.
The rest of the instrument is built following the Spanish tradition, but with a stiffer back, designed to better reflect the sound outward and enhance projection.
Finally, the finish is a water-based varnish. It is not a commercial product, but one specifically developed in collaboration with a company for my own use. The aim is to achieve the thinnest possible finish with minimal added weight, while ensuring excellent scratch resistance. It is also environmentally friendly.
In short, this project unites contemporary technology with a forward-looking vision. It reflects my approach to modern classical guitar making: blending tradition and innovation to create an instrument with outstanding projection, comfort, lightness, and responsiveness.
